This is the vintage dresser before it was mine.In the back of the oppy, reduced from $49 to $39 ...  A week later the Mr was able to go and pick it up.He insisted on having a go at soaking the rusted handles in coke, which worked!Well - on the decorative part of the handles anyway. These look like grannyish jellyfish multiplying! So these granny squares aremade from embroidery thread with a 3mm hook.They measure about 1 1/2 inches square. After stitching them together, and only one coat of fabric stiffener -they were firm but still had movement. (thought I'd have to add more than that!) Added a couple of snap fasteners. This is all done with free motion sewing - or thread drawing.The dress and scarf are made from a vintage napkin.Now that she's all sewn up, theres bits I'm not happy with - mainly with the eyes. But as her face was sewn on the machine, theres not much I can do about it now!(she could do with a bit of lippy tho...)x More creative spaces here.

Kedgeree.Its been a long time since I've made this.We used to have it all the time in England, usually with smoked haddock.Theres a few different ways to make this, I think it just depends what you have available!Here, I used store cupboard - tinned smoked salmon slices.Definitely something yummy!

Granny squares! This FANTASTIC fabric is by Cam ( Ms Curlypops ) We just had to make something straight away, as soon as this fabric arrived!So the girls chose their favourite colour combos from the granny square collection.
